Shooting The Milky Way At Ballintoy

On Wednesday morning, a very last minute plan was hatched to hit the Causeway Coast to shoot some sunset and astro images.  The weather was horrible – heavy rain and blustery gales.  BUT, the forecast predicted that by early evening, things would have improved, and it was predicting clear skies for most of the night.

I met up with a couple of other photographers, Tyler Collins & Alistair Hamill, and we headed off to explore some of the sea stacks in and around Elephant Rock.

Thankfully weather conditions improved and we were treated to a beautiful night under a blanket of stars.  As an added bonus we also witnessed not one but two passes by the International Space Station which is always a privilege to see as it hurtles across the sky at 17,500 mph!

If you’d like to learn how to shoot images of the night sky, then why not check out my Astro Workshops which I run alongside Tyler Collins.  We have two more dates available in May and September.  Places on the May Workshop are limited so please book now to avoid disappointment.
